Toward the Destination

Tons of Drought is a set of digital artworks depicting the drought in northeastern Brazil, the people who survive in these regions and their hardships, including food insecurity and lack of water. The tones and texture were chosen to bring a sense of dryness. The people appear as shadows, since the majority of the population living in these conditions is practically invisible in the eyes of the government. "Toward the destination" is the fourth work in the series. The atmosphere is bleak. Carrying her bucket of water, the woman sees her destination: her home.
