Tons of Drought is a set of digital artworks depicting the drought in northeastern Brazil, the people who survive in these regions and their hardships, including food insecurity and lack of water. The tones and texture were chosen to bring a sense of dryness. The people appear as shadows, since the majority of the population living in these conditions is practically invisible in the eyes of the government. Children of the drought is the first work in the series, portraying a family: a mother and her four children in front of their mud house.
